Emergency Notifications

Register with local providers to get real-time warnings and important updates for your specific area via text, email, or phone.

Travis County uses several notification systems to reach residents during emergencies. Registering with each system covers the widest range of situations, from severe weather to public health alerts.

Warn Central Texas

The regional emergency notification system. Registration allows you to receive alerts by text message, phone call, or email based on your registered address. Alerts are location-specific so you only hear about incidents that affect where you live, work, or spend time.

Wireless Emergency Alerts

WEAs are pushed automatically to mobile phones in an affected area by state and federal authorities. No registration required; make sure your phone's emergency alerts are enabled in settings.

National Weather Service

Weather-related warnings for severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, floods, and winter storms. Register for direct alerts at weather.gov.
